Course Summary:
This course provides the student with the skills required to design, code, test and execute C programs of simple to intermediate complexity.

Target Audience:
All programmers with knowledge of a computer system and also some previous programming experience that wish to write C programs.

Recommended Prerequisites:
Knowledge of the organisation of an Operating System. Some previous programming experience is recommended and a knowledge of hexadecimal arithmetic would also be helpful.

Course Objectives:
After completing this course, the student should be able to:

  • Code programs using the C programming language
  • Compile, link and test C programs
  • Use the C Library
  • Describe and use the various C data types
  • Control logic flow within a C program
  • Perform I/O from a C program
  • Use good C programming style and improve own programming techniques
