Course Summary:
The course is in the form of a workshop with a ±50% practical component. A set of programming assignments which address the topics covered are to be completed during the course. The computer platform used is Linux or Microsoft.

Target Audience:
This course is designed to teach Java application programming skills to candidates with basic Java or equivalent programming experience

Recommended Prerequisites:
An understanding of programming principles.

Course Objectives:
After completing this course, the student should be able to:

Write basic Java application programs that implement user and generic algorithms

Implement client-server applications in a GUI environment using concurrent and network programming concepts

Formative assessment is carried out during the training via course activities. An optional written knowledge questionnaire and if applicable, the practical assignment that the learners are required to complete as part of their course content. Learners will receive a certificate of competence on successful completion of the course.
