Course Summary:
TSO is a major sub-system of z/OS and with ISPF is used extensively by System Programmers, Operations and Development staff for many system, JCL and programme development tasks and understanding of this tool, can enhance the productivity in any installation.

Target Audience:
Application programmers, technical programmers and operations personnel new to the TSO environment.

Recommended Prerequisites:
Knowledge of computer concepts and disk storage.

Course Objectives:
After completing this course, the student should be able to:

  • Develop program source code using the ISPF editor
  • Develop a knowledge of how to maintain data and use file utilities
  • Provide information on how to monitor MVS job execution
  • Develop the skills necessary to execute TSO commands and CLIST’s
  • Expedite the migration from other timesharing systems including VM/XEDIT and ROSCOE
