Course Summary:
Learn how to install, customize, operate, and administer IBM MQSeries for z/OS. Learn about configuration, day-to-day administration, recovering from problems, and managing security and performance. Prepare for your MQ certifications.
Target Audience:
Technical support individuals who implement, operate, and perform day-to-day administration of MQ on z/OS.
Recommended Prerequisites:
The participant should have a conceptual knowledge of MQ, such as might be gained in the MQ Fundamentals course or equivalent experience, plus knowledge about installing software products on the z/OS platform.
Course Objectives:
After completing this course, the student should be able to:
List the main options to be considered when designing a message queuing application
Prepare and run MQ programs on the chosen platform
Perform day-to-day administration tasks
Add and modify MQ resource definitions
Establish connections to MQ queue managers
Pass data between MQ programs using queues
Pass reply messages, confirmation messages and exception messages, and correlate them
with the request messages
Use selection criteria for picking messages from a queue in a specific order
