Course Summary:
A workshop suitable for those who have been promoted to a Senior Management position recently or are looking to move up.

Target Audience:
This workshop is aimed at Middle to Senior Managers. This would include, but are not limited to, managers / leaders that have supervisors and/or other managers reporting to them.

Recommended Prerequisites:
Management experience or previously completed some management development.

Course Objectives:
After completing this workshop, the student should be able:

  • Explain the contribution made by own area of responsibility to the overall organisational strategy
  • Use the MBTI to understand various personal behavioural preferences
  • Conduct communication within a business environment (written and oral)
  • Interpret and manage conflicts within the workplace
  • Apply efficient time management to the work of a department/division/section
  • Describe and apply the management functions of an organisation

  • Understanding the overall strategy of an organisation
  • Understanding how the activities of own area of responsibility align with the overall strategy of the organisation
  • Communicating to the members of own team how its area of responsibility aligns to the overall organisational strategy
  • Demonstrate an understanding of communication channels in business and everyday life
  • Conduct written and verbal communication within the business environment
  • Use communication in a business environment
  • Describing the main sources of conflict
  • Describing appropriate techniques to manage conflict
  • Implementing a strategy to resolve conflict
  • Identifying time management profiles
  • Understanding the principles of time management
  • Drawing up time efficient work plans to carry out department/division/ section work functions
  • Describing the management activities involved in running a successful business
  • Explaining the basic activities involved in the management process
  • Identifying and explaining the main tasks required of managers
  • Applying the decision making process to make a management decision
  • Analysing the application of the general management functions in a selected organization
